Beliefs That Empower You (Not Limit You)

Have you found that often you find yourself going around and around in circles, Could it be that your beliefs are holding you back, limiting you from rising up, from stepping into your true potential?

The following is a truism:  Your belief system will absolutely get you where you’re going… or debate with you all the way, ultimately defeating you.  Those of you who work from home, have started your own online home business or are still in the process of deciding to  start start your own online home business might find that at some point in the journey that there could arise a feeling of ” stuckness” and subsequently become aware that the only person standing in the way of personal success is YOU.

You can, overcome your mind’s output… and if this is possible then then the same can then be said that  you can certainly control the input! So how would you go about doing this?

Each time you become aware that you are holding a negative thought or a thought that does not necessary serve you in a good way ( Yes the secret is to become aware ) You have got to gently deflect any thoughts that are limiting. This takes time and cannot be mastered overnight. Have patience. They’ll soon go away.  Start replacing these UN-empowering thoughts with new thoughts, start with slightly more positive thoughts, like “Things will work out well,” or “I am handling this in the best way that I can.” “I am confident ” etc..

You have the ability to define what happens to you. How is that possible?  You make it possible. Your personal development as well as the growth of your online home business is in your hands. You can change anything about yourself…once you’ve decided to do so.  Don’t forget to ask for divine guidance.  We didn’t come into this world by ourselves, so it’s only fitting that we ask our Creator to nudge us in the right direction.

However, once you know what the right thing to do is, you’re only half way there.  Now you need to act.  Folks are often stopped in their tracks by associative thinking. That is when you have learned to make an old assumption, or association, between what is happening and what you fear will be the end result.

For instance, if you associate losing a bid that your online home business worked very hard on with pain, fear and worthlessness, then that is where your belief system is going to have a field day with you if and when your business loses that bid.  This sort of toxic thinking will eventually lead to pessimism and despair.  You must nip this “stinkin’ thinking” in the bud!

Instead, see the glass as half full.  You’ve embarked on a whole new pathway.  This will free you up for new opportunities.  Have the courage and foresight to look at the long-term view.  Remember that you control how you think.  All of your struggles will build character, and shape the “you” that you become…much more so than the parts of your life that are carefree and free of discord.

You’ve got to see your “issues” as an opportunity.  A one-of-a-kind chance to become the person you have always wanted to be.  If you don’t yet know who that is, dwell on the characteristics of a person you admire greatly.  Chances are that that person went through a lot to get to where she or he is, now.

Having made up your mind to embrace difficulties—or at least to welcome them—you will need to repeat positive affirmations. Tell yourself: “The way in which I view something completely alters my perception, so I shall choose to see the glass as half FULL.”

The power of belief systems (which used to be called faith and, in some circles, still are) is illustrated beautifully in what happened in the aftermath of Roger Banister’s running the four-minute mile in 1954.  Prior to his doing so, the belief system regarding how fast a human could run was such that no-one even CONTEMPLATED running a four-minute mile.  Why bother?  Everybody “knew” it just couldn’t be done.

Until Banister’s accomplishment, that was.  Suddenly, 37 other people accomplished that feat. Why? Because someone had torn down the belief barrier! It’s almost as if they had been given permission to create that change in their own reality.

Your belief systems will get you where you want to go.  Tell yourself that difficult times will be worked through, and that you’ll be even better off than you were before.  You are what you think!  Believe that, first and foremost, and then set about becoming all that you can be.

To your new beliefs

Being aware of the negative thoughts is key. Once you catch yourself then say to yourself, “now say something good.” and keep going with that.

    Hi Brenda,
    Another great post.
I always try to catch myself when I think negative. Then I change my thoughts, or do something that will take me into a positive state.
Once you are conscious of your negativity, you are in the best position to turn it all around.

You definitely have to have positive thoughts and more importantly postive self talk. You are then operating at a higher vibration and then you are attracting more and more of the things that you do want.

Brenda you are so on point with this. Having belief, faith and a burning desire will boost your business through the roof, and as you said trusting in God is surely needed.

Thanks Brenda, for sharing this awesome post. This topic on belief is to my opinion, one of the foundational principles that need to be addressed before going further, because if your belief is messed up, everything will be messed up!

Hi Brenda, if you think you can or think you can’t either way your right… beliefs are the invisible force that rule your life. If you want different results you need to ‘cultivate’ new habits and attitudes to form new Beliefs. In Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill explains the process and in ‘With Winning in Mind’ by Lanny Bassham details the ‘How To’ with ‘Directive Affirmations’.

Brenda great article here. What you put into your mind is so important. I was just talking the other day about the garbage in garbage out saying with computers. Our minds work the same way. If you put negative things in then that is what will come out. The good news is that it works the other way to. Put in positive and out comes positive. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic post, Brenda. You’ve got to change any thoughts that are limiting and replace them with empowering thoughts if you wish to be successful in life and in business. There is immense power in the mind so we need to learn how to retrain our minds to focus on the positive instead of the negative. What you focus on is what you’ll eventually attract into your life.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful ideas. Have a fantastic week!
